Trees for the Future is the initiative that, since 2015, has been planting trees in urban areas in Italy. It is urban forestation, a process that helps improve the environmental conditions for its inhabitants. Each tree absorbs around 15 kg of CO2 and produces oxygen for 2.5 human beings. But that is not all. Urban forestation helps lower temperatures by 1-2 degrees and prevents soil consumption. Unfortunately, this very difficult year 2020 has made it impossible to hold the day as we are used to knowing it. The health situation requires us to reduce travel as much as possible, so as to limit the spread of the virus. That is why the 2020 edition of Trees for the Future will focus on raising awareness.
On 21 November, on the balcony, in the garden or at home, plant a flower or a tree, a sprout of the future to care for in the coming months. It will be the chance to challenge your friends to do the same and, together, we will talk about urban forestation, about the benefits of greener cities and cleaner air.
