In a large villa on Lake Como, everything is ready to celebrate the wedding of Elio and Caterina. It will be the most beautiful day of their lives and of their parents’ lives too, above all their respective fathers, Giacomo and Giovanni. The two have known each other since their school days and have shared everything: the family business, Segrate Arredi, their affections, their holidays... The wedding of their children is the most moving seal on their brotherly, unbreakable friendship. That is why they have spared no expense: three days of celebrations, a Cardinal to officiate the wedding, fine wines, Michelin-starred chefs… And to direct it all, a hugely expensive maître who has himself called “the Riccardo Muti of catering”.
Too bad that, together with Margherita, Giovanni’s ex-wife and the bride’s mother, Aldo also arrives at the wedding, her new partner. Likeable, exuberant and above all a troublemaker of the highest order, the newcomer descends on the wedding like a tornado, stringing together a series of gaffes and hilarious but above all extremely costly mishaps. Giacomo and Giovanni try in every way to keep him in check, but under Aldo’s blows cracks open up, from which a hidden unease emerges, set to call into question the friendship between Giovanni and Giacomo, their marriages and more. And which will force everyone to reckon with their own doubts and with the courage it takes to allow themselves happiness.
