Checco Zalone’s return to the big screen is now just around the corner. Almost five years after the release of Tolo Tolo, the actor and director is ready to return to cinemas with Buen Camino, the new production directed by Gennaro Nunziante, arriving on 25 December. To build anticipation, Zalone published the official film poster on his Instagram profile, where it was welcomed with great enthusiasm by his many followers.
The poster post quickly gathered a large number of likes, confirming the public’s strong interest in this new project, which once again sees the collaboration between Zalone and Nunziante, who also wrote the screenplay together. Last October the actor announced the end of filming in Spain. According to TGcom24, the cast also includes Beatriz Arjona and Letizia Arno, while theatrical distribution will be handled by Medusa Film. Curiosity now remains high for the first official trailer.
Ciak Magazine has released the film’s synopsis. The protagonist, Checco, is a wealthy heir accustomed to a comfortable life who finds himself forced to leave every comfort behind to search for his missing teenage daughter. The journey takes him along the Camino de Santiago, amid hardships, unexpected encounters and reflections that become an opportunity for personal rediscovery. The complex and unexpected route becomes a way for father and daughter to truly get to know each other. Buen Camino arrives on the film market years after Tolo Tolo, a picture that surpassed 46 million euros at the Italian box office. Over the course of his career, Zalone has repeatedly broken national records, including that of the highest-grossing Italian film of all time with Quo vado, which exceeded 65 million dollars worldwide.
Among the many awards received by the artist are the David dello spettatore audience award for Tolo Tolo and the prize for Best Original Song with Immigrato at the sixty-sixth edition of the David di Donatello awards. The new film is now preparing to attract the interest of audiences awaiting its arrival in cinemas on Christmas Day.
