On Sunday 17 September the world tour of Il Volo stopped in Switzerland. The performances will now take the trio across four continents: besides the major European cities, they will touch Japan, Canada, the United States and Australia. Nor should we forget the concerts in the most prestigious and spectacular Italian venues, such as the Teatro Antico in Taormina and the Arena di Verona.
Since their debut in 2010 Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca have established themselves year after year, becoming the first Italians to sign a contract with a United States major label. Their performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York definitively confirmed them as the rising stars of operatic pop. In their career they have been nominated for two Latin Grammys and have toured with Barbra Streisand in the United States and in Canada. In 2015 they won the Sanremo Festival with the song “Grande Amore”, with which they then represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing third.
Known all over the world, in Italy they have sung for the highest political and religious authorities, confirming themselves as an excellence of music made in Italy. They masterfully perform songs in Spanish, English, French, German and Latin from the international classical tradition with modern style and arrangements, and they revisit pop songs in a classical key, always managing to surprise and take the breath away.
