ZURICH: an evening that smelled of home, of Italy, of sincere emotions. On Thursday 3 April, the Volkshaus in Zurich welcomed Tananai with open arms, one of the most eclectic and best loved artists on the contemporary Italian music scene. A long awaited and well attended concert, which turned the hall into a small corner of Italy, made of choruses, lights and smiles. Backed by a tight band and a warm audience, Tananai brought all his energy to the stage, alternating moments of acoustic intimacy with full blown pop explosions. Songs such as “Tango”, “Baby Goddamn”, “Sesso Occasionale” and “Abissale” were greeted with a roar of enthusiasm and sung at the top of their voices by an audience spanning ages and backgrounds, yet united by the same language of the heart: music.
The Milanese singer-songwriter, with his unique style between urban romance and disarming irony, was able to draw the audience in from the very first notes, joking, dancing and telling personal anecdotes between one track and the next. The concert thus became an authentic dialogue rather than a simple performance.
A strong bond with the Italian community abroad
