There is an image that, sooner or later, concerns us all: the embrace that made us feel safe as children. This is where Enrico Brignano starts again, returning to the one man show with «Bello di mamma!» after the success of «I 7 Re di Roma», and bringing it to Switzerland too for two dates in early 2027: Friday 8 January 2027 at the Kursaal in Bern and Saturday 9 January 2027 at Theater 11 in Zurich. Produced by Vivo Concerti and Enry B. Produzioni, «Bello di mamma!» was already applauded in summer 2025 in open-air arenas and in 2026 in Italian indoor venues, with a stop in Locarno as well. Written by Brignano himself together with Graziano Cutrona, Manuela D'Angelo, Luciano Federico and Alessio Parenti, the show starts from a simple and powerful idea: in a world that changes too fast, full of contradictions and constant demands, we all feel the need to return to that primal embrace of childhood. The mother's voice that soothed our fears, a cup of hot chocolate, cartoons, a blanket that warmed legs and heart. That «bello di mamma» who protected us and, when needed, set us straight.
From that image, Brignano builds a broader reflection on our times: an age in which alarming news, ubiquitous technology and accelerated rhythms coexist with nostalgia for a time when everything seemed clearer. The great global issues, from wars to artificial intelligence, from an inclusion that sometimes divides to the contradictions of the ecological transition, become comic material and, at the same time, an occasion for reflection. The real challenge, the artist says, is to find an antidote and recover an emotional balance amid the confusion. And this is where his most authentic language comes into play: laughter that can be mocking or benevolent, ironic or melancholic, but always sincere and able to bring order to today's chaos.
«Bello di mamma!» is therefore a return to the roots of the one man show and, at the same time, a step forward in the actor's storytelling: a personal story that becomes collective and speaks to the audience through shared emotions, recognisable vulnerability and a humour that does not give up tenderness. On stage, Brignano will be accompanied by an orchestra of ten musicians and two backing vocalists. The music is by Andrea Perrozzi, the set design by Marco Calzavara and the lighting design by Marco Lucarelli, with costumes entrusted to Paolo Marcati and the D'Inzillo Sweet Mode tailoring house.
