The presentation of the new wine collection “Leonardo Da Vinci”, a tribute to Made in Italy designed for markets abroad, took place in Zurich at the Razzia restaurant, bringing together research, experimentation, elegance and art. The “Monnalisa” wines, a modern reading by the “Leonardo Da Vinci” winery, were born in 2019. An original idea conceived as a tribute to the “Genius”, in which his most famous work is recalled and updated in a pop art key: the “Monnalisa”. The winery launched an online competition in which artists from various parts of the world took part, each creating their own interpretation of the Mona Lisa. The contest was won by New Yorker Ian Henderson. This is how the original printing technique applied directly to the glass of the bottle came about, turning the bottle itself into a genuine work of art.

Leonardo Da Vinci was born in the Tuscan countryside, in Vinci, where his father Piero owned vineyards and where Leonardo grew up in close contact with nature and with vines. Da Vinci loved wine because it is a product of the earth, an indissoluble link between function and beauty, something he underlines in many of his writings and drawings. This deep bond accompanied him throughout his life, until he moved to Milan, where he had the chance to fulfil his dream of cultivating a vineyard, thanks to the donation of Ludovico il Moro.
These are elegant wines that represent Tuscany, its freshness and its refinement. A perfect mix of aromas and a persuasive union of Sangiovese, Syrah and Merlot.
Leonardo da Vinci S.p.A. was born from a union of Italian wineries that share the same vision: to enhance the history and the winemaking excellence of the territory through a combination of culture and food and wine culture, in keeping with the teachings of the Genius of wine. Since 2018 it has been committed to rediscovering, recovering and spreading all of Leonardo Da Vinci’s scientific research in the field of oenology, with the aim of writing the modern version of his Method and giving life to excellent wines under the Leonardo da Vinci brand.
