Bolgheri is not just a place on the Tuscan coast. It is an idea of wine that unites sea and hills, rigour and sensuality, tradition and contemporary vision. On 02.02.2026 this highly recognisable identity arrives in Zurich with an event that puts tasting, wine culture and direct encounters with producers at its centre: the Consorzio Bolgheri offers a Masterclass led by Christian Eder, followed by a Grand Tasting with 40 renowned wineries of the appellation.
The event, hosted in the spaces of the Park Hyatt Zurich, is designed to offer a broad and concrete overview of the “faces” of Bolgheri: from the more maritime profiles, marked by freshness and tension, to the more structured and profound interpretations coming from the hillside areas. An ideal opportunity to understand how soils, exposures and microclimates define different styles within a common language made of elegance, precision and longevity.
The programme opens with the Masterclass “Facetten von Bolgheri: vom Meer bis in die Hügel”, moderated by Christian Eder. The approach is technical and geared towards the professional world, with the aim of reading Bolgheri as a mosaic of territories and not as a single label. The Masterclass is scheduled from 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm and is reserved for the B2B segment.
It is important to point out: the Masterclass is already fully booked. However, it is still possible to take part in the Grand Tasting and experience the heart of the event.

From 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm the tasting is reserved for B2B, while from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm it opens to the public with a tasting session dedicated to enthusiasts. Here the added value is the encounter: tasting stands, direct dialogue with the producers, comparisons between vintages and interpretations, and the opportunity to observe up close the positioning of one of Italy’s most iconic appellations.
Among the names present are landmark estates and wineries with strong personalities, with a line-up that includes, among others, Ornellaia, Tenuta San Guido, Grattamacco, Guado al Tasso, Argentiera, Castello di Bolgheri, Michele Satta, Poggio al Tesoro, Ruffino and many more. In total, 40 wineries make up a tasting journey that allows visitors to grasp nuances and differences, from the most classic style to the most contemporary readings, always with that imprint of balance that has made Bolgheri an international reference.
In the 8th century the territory around Bolgheri and Castagneto was controlled by the Lombards because of its strategic position between the Tyrrhenian coast and the surrounding hills. Here, over time, a family destined to leave an indelible mark established itself: the Counts della Gherardesca. It was under their supervision that, as early as the end of the 17th century, the first traces of viticulture appeared.
