On Monday 16 September 2024, lovers of Italian wine and industry professionals are getting ready for a unique experience dedicated to Amarone, one of the most iconic and celebrated wines in Italy. The event, organised by Vinum, will take place at the elegant Ameron Zurich Bellerive au Lac from 2.30 pm to 8.00 pm, promising an afternoon full of tastings and insights into the world of this fine wine.
Originating in Valpolicella, in Veneto, Amarone is known for its robust character and its complex notes of ripe fruit, chocolate and spices. Its production follows a traditional process that involves drying the grapes, giving the wine a unique intensity and aromatic quality. This event is a valuable opportunity to deepen one’s knowledge of a product that is not only a symbol of the Italian winemaking tradition, but also a genuine treasure to discover.

During the event, participants will be able to savour a wide range of Amarone, also discovering ideal food pairings to enhance the qualities of this extraordinary wine. The producers of the Famiglie Storiche, an association founded in June 2009 from the union of ten historic wineries in Valpolicella and now counting 13 members, will be present to tell their story, illustrate the winemaking techniques and answer any question, creating a convivial and informal atmosphere. These are prestigious wineries that for generations have been active witnesses of the “world of Amarone”: Allegrini, Begali, Brigaldara, Guerrieri Rizzardi, Masi, Musella, Speri, Tedeschi, Tenuta Sant’Antonio, Tommasi, Torre D’Orti, Venturini and Zenato.

Vinum’s event is designed to satisfy both industry professionals and wine lovers. Professionals will have the chance to meet various producers, discover the latest news and establish business collaborations. For enthusiasts, this will be a unique opportunity to taste a selection of Amarone from various wineries, guided by expert sommeliers who will share insights into the characteristics and peculiarities of each wine.
