The best of Italian wine returns to centre stage in Zurich with the Grand Tasting Vini d’Italia 2026, an event designed for discovering and tasting an exclusive selection of labels awarded and recommended in the new edition of the Vini d’Italia guide. The event takes place on 19.01.2026 in the refined setting of the Lake Side, on Zurich’s lakeside promenade, for an afternoon that combines tastings, encounters and a moment dedicated to Italian dining in the city.
For more than three decades, Gambero Rosso has been an authoritative reference for those who closely follow the world of Italian wine and gastronomy. The Vini d’Italia guide, published every year, evaluates an impressive number of wineries and wines and helps to shine a light on territories, styles and producers that define the country’s winemaking identity. The Grand Tasting brings this experience to the region, offering the chance to taste live a selection of wines recognised for quality and character.

The afternoon is structured in several moments, with a first part dedicated to industry professionals followed by the opening to the public.
The tasting kicks off at 3.00 pm with a session reserved for professionals, who are asked to provide proof on site, for example a certificate or business card. From 4.30 pm the grand tasting for the public opens, an ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to get closer to Italian excellence in a curated setting, with the chance to compare different labels and interpretations.
Also at 4.30 pm comes a particularly awaited moment: the Top Italian Restaurants 2026 award ceremony, celebrating the best Italian restaurants in Zurich according to the annual ranking. Italian cuisine is synonymous with quality, freshness and respect for raw ingredients, but service, offer and the care of the wine list also count in the evaluation. Special attention is reserved for wine, because the Italian experience at the table is not complete without a glass to match.
