It all started as a game during an evening at a pizzeria: just under a year ago Tamara M. set up the Future Dancers, a dance group made up of five very young Italian girls aged between 17 and 21, born in Zurich and its surroundings. About a year after the project was born, the girls will perform for the first time in front of a large audience on Friday evening at 11 pm at the Kaufleuten club in Zurich.
"I myself danced for several years in Switzerland at festivals and in various clubs," Tamara told us in a phone interview, "and since I stopped doing it full time, I have always wanted to teach Hip Hop and RnB dancing. One evening at a pizzeria I shared my thoughts at a table with my daughter Shania and some of her friends and, almost as a game, we thought we would try meeting up to dance and see what would happen. Shortly afterwards, we recognised the passion for dance that united us and I founded Future Dancers."
The Future Dancers girls are five and all Italian, but on Friday evening at the Kaufleuten they will be six: their names are Giulia, Lisa, Shania, Alessia, Sabrina, Vanessa and, for the occasion, two girls from Vanity Dancers will also take part.

"The beautiful thing about our group is that we have become a big family," continues Tamara who, besides being the founder, is also the Future Dancers' coach. "We mostly speak Italian and we have fun learning new dance steps, in line with the current trends circulating online. We are never short of a smile and within the group there is no competition or envy." To pay for the dance hall they use for training, the girls teach dance to other girls on Friday evenings, while on Saturdays they dedicate themselves to their weekly training. "For Friday night's event at the club," Tamara adds, "the girls also train on Sundays for more than three hours straight without a break. I am proud of them. They have an enviable determination because, besides dancing, they all study or work." Indeed, some of the girls are in high school and others are doing apprenticeships: a life full of commitments.
