A true passion for cars, Marco Mele is the new Jeep manager

City Garage, founded in 1974 in Wettingen in the canton of Aargau, welcomes with open arms Marco Mele, the new manager for the Jeep brand, whom we went to interview. The new dad, originally from the province of Lecce, completed his professional apprenticeship in Switzerland as a mechanic with Fiat Lancia. After a brief period in the role of insurer, the desire to nurture contact with car customers crystallised in Marco, who therefore decided to return to the automotive scene. The sector that suits him best is sales. Armed with his gift for dialogue and the knowledge assimilated in the past as a mechanic, he immediately met with great success among his customers. His passion for four wheels is innate, to the point of infecting those around him. "I always knew," he tells us, "that my path would be in car sales. The passion I nurture for this world is more than tangible. I follow and keep up with the model releases of almost every brand, as I do with the trends and fashions of the moment. I know the product well and I know when it is in vogue and where, instead, we are heading in the not too distant future."

‍Marco Mele is now the new Jeep manager for City Garage Wettingen, but his experience in automotive began at other dealerships a long time ago, having already accumulated a good seven years of experience in this commercial branch. "One of the things that gives me the most satisfaction," he continues, "is a customer's happiness when they take delivery of their car, whether new or used. When it is a new car, however, you can feel an even more positive energy in the air, a charge released no doubt also by the selection process that precedes the purchase itself, where I create the conditions for the customer to immerse themselves in the world of the car." Indeed, Marco creates a true Jeep path along which he takes the interested party by the hand and leads them step by step to completing the purchase. "This experience is not always the same," he adds. "You cannot imagine how many times people have only a vague idea of what they would like, but are not at all sure of their intuition. This is where I come into play, trying to pick up on the customer's requirements and grasp their needs, subsequently directing them towards the car that suits them best and which, as we might say in jargon, 'solves the problem' they came to us for." The customer is therefore truly taken by the hand and accompanied along the entire journey that will lead them to their new set of wheels. "If, for example, a sales agent comes to me who travels a lot for work, I will list the advantages of a car with a range high enough to travel comfortably from one appointment to the next. Different instead is the family facing space problems because they are expecting a second or third child: to them I would propose our flagship car, for example the Grand Cherokee. And so on."

"I take my work seriously."

Marco Mele loves his job and regularly keeps up with the new products arriving on the market. And that is a good thing, given that customers sometimes put the car dealer to the test, asking him things they already know the answer to, but they are surprised when it ends up "that I give them a valid answer," he continues with a smile, "arguing whatever is needed to confirm or refute the customer's thesis." In this new adventure signed City Garage Wettingen, Marco Mele is enthusiastic about offering the Jeep product range "because from the design and the engines you can see it is now in Italian hands, I won't hide it, I like it a lot. I am also happy that Jeep wants to be present in every SUV segment with at least one model. This will give me the chance to study more deeply the values that characterise this brand, to speak about it and to highlight the peculiarities that distinguish it from the rest of the world."
