Iva Zanicchi conquers Biel: Christmas Sessions close with an unforgettable Meet & Greet

Biel/Bienne experienced one of the most intense evenings of its 2025 edition of the Christmas Sessions, the festival that every year transforms the city into a stage for international music. Among the four evenings scheduled from November 20 to 23, each with its own soul and protagonists, the one on Saturday, November 22, at the Kongresshaus, was undoubtedly the most anticipated by the Italian community in Switzerland.

Iva Zanicchi took the stage, accompanied by two other protagonists of Italian music: the legendary New Trolls, with their unique mix of rock, classical and progressive music, and the elegant trio The Italian Tenors, capable of combining operatic sound with a modern and contemporary taste. A combination of genres and styles that made the evening a true journey through the history of Italian song, able to speak to multiple generations of audiences.

A record-breaking repertoire

Iva Zanicchi, always defined as 'the voice of Italy,' retraced on stage the most significant moments of her very long career. An artist who boasts three victories at the Sanremo Festival: in 1967 with 'Non pensare a me' together with Claudio Villa, in 1969 with 'Zingara' paired with Bobby Solo, and in 1974 with 'Ciao cara, come stai?' as a soloist, a record that makes her one of the most awarded female performers in the history of the festival. On the Biel stage she treated the audience to her timeless classics, welcomed with warm applause and with that warmth that only an audience of compatriots far from home can give.

The concert, with doors opening at 7 PM and start at 8 PM, ended around 11:30 PM, leaving room for a moment that the fans present will remember for a long time: a Meet & Greet with Iva Zanicchi, highly appreciated by those who were able to exchange a few words, a photo and a direct memory with the artist. An informal and heartfelt occasion, which allowed the audience to experience the evening not only as a spectator, but as part of a moment of authentic sharing with one of the most beloved voices in Italian music.

A special year for Iva Zanicchi

The Biel evening is part of a particularly intense year for the artist, who just a few months ago was also a protagonist on the Sanremo stage, where on February 13 she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the hands of host Carlo Conti, in recognition of her eleven participations and three victories at the festival. A recognition that made the Swiss appointment even more special, experienced by the audience as an important stage in the journey of an artist who continues to represent, generation after generation, the most authentic soul of Italian song.

The Christmas Sessions, which this year also brought other internationally renowned names to Biel on previous evenings, confirm themselves as a regular appointment for the Italian community and for all lovers of great music in Switzerland. From the evening dedicated to Iva Zanicchi, New Trolls and The Italian Tenors, rich photographic documentation will also remain, which will allow those who were present, and those who could not be there, to relive the atmosphere of the Kongresshaus that evening.
