Enrico Brignano: a one-man show that brings to the stage a performance in which it is impossible not to laugh; his Roman comic verve makes him exceptional: without doubt his success is more than deserved given the quality of this great actor, author, comedian, television presenter and director. Founder of the performing arts school “Artès” in Pomezia, Enrico Brignano, born in 1966, comes into the world in Rome in the Dragona district, of Sicilian and Abruzzese origins as well as, as his surname indicates, Piedmontese; in 1990 he graduates from the Laboratorio di Esercitazioni Sceniche in Rome, a school directed by Gigi Proietti.
He approaches the world of television by taking part as a comedian and joke-teller in the first edition of the programme “La sai l'ultima?”, broadcast on Canale 5. In 1992 he is a guest on the first edition of the television programme “Scherzi a parte.” A few years later he is Giacinto in “Un medico in famiglia.” In 2000 he shoots his first film as director and lead, “Si fa presto a dire amore,” alongside Vittoria Belvedere. He interrupts his film career to devote himself more to his true passion, the theatre, and so he writes and performs several shows before returning once again to the big screen alongside Vincenzo Salemme and Giorgio Panariello, with whom he will shoot other films in the following years.
His rise in the world of show business begins thanks to the summer theatre and cabaret tours, which often bring him back to television as well, as a presenter and as a guest on many famous programmes. From 2007 to 2011 he is part of the cast of comedians on Zelig, which definitively established him as one of the best Italian comedians of recent years. On 17 August 2013 he receives in Catanzaro the “Riccio d'Argento” of the 27th edition of Fatti di Musica, the award-festival for the best live singer-songwriter performances of the year directed by Ruggero Pegna, for the new show “Il meglio d'Italia.” With Rizzoli he published the bestselling book “Sono romano ma non è colpa mia” (2009) and “Tutto suo padre” (2012).
