Arturo Brachetti is an Italian artist, famous and acclaimed all over the world. Born in Turin on 13 October 1957, he defines himself as a visual performing artist, and his distinctive trait is not only using magic to entertain young and old, but also being a quick-change actor. His record remains unbeaten to this day. Arturo doesn't just change the colour of his costume, but the entire character, from shoes to hat, going in the blink of an eye from Scarlett O'Hara to a Mexican mariachi, from a charleston diva to a Cossack on the bank of the Don. He stages his first shows at the age of 15, but his career begins in 1978. That year he is in Paris where, as the only quick-change artist in the world, he reinvents and revives the forgotten art of Fregoli, becoming for years the leading attraction of the Paradis Latin cabaret. From then on his career is unstoppable, in a continuous crescendo that has established him as one of the few Italian artists of international standing, with solid fame outside our country.
He has performed in every corner of the planet, in several languages and in hundreds of theatres around the world. Three years later, we see him as the host of Flic Flac, a poetic variety show that also takes him to Germany. Then, in 1983, he moves to London and works at the Picadilly Theatre, where he stages a production of his own, Y. During the same period, he also takes part in the Covent Garden Christmas Gala in front of the royal family. In addition to treading various stages with L'Histoire du Soldat, In Principio Arturo and Il mistero del bastardi assassini, he also arrives on television in the Rai 1 programme Al Paradise. Among the international shows, we can mention A Night of Magic, at Disneyland Paris, or The best of magic. During his shows he becomes known mainly for his ability to play a great many characters. In I Massibili he takes on thirty-three roles, while in Brachetti in Technicolor he reaches forty. In the 2000s he goes to America to record two TV series: Drew Carey Show and Nikki. In 2004 he performs before the President of the French Republic, while in 2006 he directs Anplagghed, by Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo. In 2014 the then President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, made him a Commendatore, and previously, in 2011, the French Minister of Culture named him a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
